About Strom Motorsports

Strom Motorsports was founded in 2015 by Brett Strom as a full-service race shop in Orange County, California. We supported clients and competed in SRO, Creventic, NASA, BMW Club Racing, SCCA and WRL, running factory BMW, Porsche and Audi TCR race cars alongside our own builds. Our racing results include wins and podium finishes at the 12 Hours of Bathurst, 24 Hours of Dubai, 12 Hours of Spa, 25 Hours of Thunderhill and many more. Our cars and clients also won hundreds of races and many National Championships in NASA, BMW Club Racing, SCCA and other series.

Today our focus has shifted towards motorsport engineering and the manufacture of high-quality parts. Our separate service shop, Strom German Auto, is located in Costa Mesa and provides dealership-level service, maintenance and repair for late-model German cars.

Performance and Race Parts

We design and manufacture performance and motorsport parts for BMWs, with a primary focus on the E46 chassis and the B48 engine. Our range also includes parts for E36, E9x and E8x chassis, B58 and S58 engines, and universal motorsport applications. We run everything we make on the racetrack, so our parts are continuously developed and revised based on what we learn. 

The BMW B48

Since 2022 we have focused heavily on the BMW B48 engine and on parts and solutions for its use in performance, motorsport and engine swap applications. We offer complete swap packages for the E36 and E46, including engine harnesses, MoTeC M1 ECUs with our B48 calibration, and turbocharger upgrades, and we continue to develop new parts for the engine.

Consulting and Engineering

We provide calibration, tuning and troubleshooting for standalone motorsport engine management systems. Our main focus is the MoTeC M1 ECU and its variants. We also program and integrate displays and power systems for MoTeC and ECUMaster.

We offer engineering services for CNC-machined, laser-cut and 3D-printed parts, and can help you or your company design and manufacture automotive parts for any use. 

We also provide consult on driver coaching, data analysis, suspension setup, and project scope and planning.
